ADAPTIVE REUSE IS AT THE HEART OF WHAT WE DO

The Metro Falls team has decades of experience transforming historical properties.

Maintaining the period looks and integrity of historical buildings while adding upscale amenities is our passion—but our portfolio also includes properties ranging from garden-style apartments and lofts to commercial buildings. The historical buildings that we transform on the inside still look like they belong in their landscape from the outside. They are integral parts of vibrant neighborhoods with long-time legacies.

Our headquarters is located in the High Falls neighborhood in downtown Rochester, along the picturesque Genesee River, a neighborhood with a rich history that now offers a mix of residential and commercial spaces.

At Metro Falls, our team is small but mighty. Todd Clicquennoi is the primary lead, while his longtime partner, Larry Young, handles day-to-day maintenance and operations. Zachary, Todd’s son, has grown up with the business and works full-time in daily operations. Michelle Clicquennoi, MBA, CPA, serves as our CFO and supervises the accounting and other key financial activities for Metro Falls.
MEET THE TEAM

Todd Clicquennoi
Principal, Licensed Real Estate Broker, Developer

Todd got his start in real estate at just 12 years old, when he met Benton (Ben) Kendig, a former schoolteacher and the president of Kend Enterprises. Ben not only hired Todd to work as a helper on construction jobs—he also taught Todd what he knew about real estate and the lessons he’d learned from his many years of developing and remodeling historical buildings.

After graduating from SUNY Brockport, Todd began buying, developing and remodeling real estate, gravitating to the same types of historical buildings he’d worked on with Ben. In 1997, Todd co-founded Zacarah Corporation with his long-time business partner, Larry Young. Together they developed, leased and managed real estate across New York state. Zacarah has since become part of Metro Falls.

Today, Todd develops, owns, leases and manages properties primarily located in Rochester and Buffalo, and specializes in adaptive reuse. Metro Falls’ properties feature historical buildings that have been renovated with new mechanicals and contemporary interiors while they maintain period looks to meet the guidelines of their respective neighborhoods. The projects serve a growing demand for upscale urban living in mixed-use residential and commercial properties. In addition, Todd has expanded the firm’s work in other cities, with a focus on the commercial real estate market.

Todd met Michelle Bryant early in their careers. Michelle provided her accounting expertise to help Todd acquire his real estate holdings, and together, they collaborated on many complex real estate transactions. After years of forming a strong friendship, Todd and Michelle were married in 2020, and she has now joined the Metro Falls management team.

Michelle Clicquennoi, MBA, CPA
Chief Financial Officer

Michelle Clicquennoi has worked as the certified public accountant for Metro Falls and other real estate clients for more than 20 years. As CFO for Metro Falls, Michelle is the senior executive responsible for overseeing and managing all the financial actions of the company. Her extensive knowledge and expertise in accounting and business management specific to the real estate industry are major advantages in her role as chief financial officer.

Prior to joining Metro Falls, Michelle worked as a CPA for other firms. Her career began in 1999 when Kroner Gamble & Company CPA, P.C., hired her as an intern. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from St. John Fisher College, she went on to earn her MBA from Fisher in 2001. Once she was awarded her CPA in 2002, Kroner hired Michelle as a full-time accountant. From there, she was quickly promoted into progressively more responsible positions, honing her talents in client relationship management, leadership, strategy and supervisory skills. In 2004, Michelle was promoted to partner and served in that capacity until 2018, when she started a public accounting firm with her own name on the door, Bryant Accounting Services CPA, PLLC. Today, Michelle has scaled back her accounting firm to serve select clients in an outsourced accounting capacity while dedicating most of her time to Metro Falls.

Larry Young
Partner

Larry has known Todd Clicquennoi since they were kids. They have now partnered in their real estate ventures for more than 30 years.

“Rehabbing older buildings lets us bring them up to code and create beautiful, upscale interiors while we maintain the historical exteriors."

Like Todd, Larry was introduced to renovating buildings by Ben Kendig of Kend Enterprises and began learning all about the construction trades while working weekends during high school. He purchased his first income property when he was 18 years old.

Together, Todd and Larry bought a group of properties and formed Zacarah Corporation in 1997, which is now part of Metro Falls, LLC.

Today, Larry handles the day-to-day maintenance responsibilities for the company’s properties and is known as a “jack of all trades.” While Metro Falls buys, develops and manages all types of properties, Larry says he finds the historical aspect of the company most satisfying.

Zachary
Property Manager

Zach has been learning about real estate development, construction and leasing from the ground up—literally. Since grade school, he’s watched his dad, Todd, grow the family business. After graduating from SUNY Brockport in 2017, Zach also decided to pursue a career in real estate development. He supports Todd and Larry in their development projects, supervises maintenance projects and provides customer support to a growing tenant base.

“We put the best work into everything we own so that we can offer people safe, affordable and contemporary places to live."

Zach says there’s no other place he’d rather live than in Rochester, NY. He shares his dad’s vision of the company as it continues to expand. "Our focus is on more than just renovating historical buildings—the work we put into maintaining them influences the surrounding neighborhood and improves people’s quality of life."
